I have searched for what is going on in the Art and Craft scene in Lancaster, Morecambe and Silverdale area as at 24th of October and added information and links.

Morecambe Bay UK is a charity with many interesting projects. Morecambe Bay PartnershipBirds of the Bay, Love my Beach, Headlands to Headspace, the list goes on. @MorecambeBayUK @_MBAY @LoveMyBeachMBP @H2H_tweets @BirdsoftheBay The organisation arranged a much televised Art Installation at Heysham Headland in September which then moved to Ulverston. By @RobMulholland1 They have commissioned a number of public art projects and keep n eye open.


The Wolf House Gallery and Cafe, Silverdale @JaniceMcGloine It is rare to find a Gallery/Gift Shop dedicated mostly to a single artist with the artist busy painting near the door – but such a place exists in Silverdale, 5 minutes from Carnforth. Janice undertakes commissions and this place is always worth a visit. There is a popular cafe and toilets, with walk to a National Trust Headland, Jack Scout, and Jenny Browns Point nearby. Janice Website


The Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail @SAAC_trail  is an annual event in June which has 90 Artists, dozens of venues and thousands or pictures and craft items. Held over 3 days it is a stunning example of what can be done to help artists and crafters. Website

Lancaster and District Art Society, The society meets every Friday evening at 7pm at the Torrisholme Methodist Church.  All newcomers are welcomed. Lancaster and District Art Society

Morecambe Library has regular Art Exhibitions by Local Artists Moecambe Library I have heard that Heysham Library also has them so I expect other Libraries in the Area take part also.

Morecambe Camera Club meet on Thursday evenings and are a friendly bunch Morecambe Camera Club We meet most Thursdays from 7.30 pm to 9.30pm from October to Easter. Meetings are held in the Church of the Ascension, Michaelson Avenue, Torrisholme, Morecambe, LA4 6RH We charge an annual subscription of £35
Under 18’s / Under 21 in full time education: £10 We have a summer outing programme that runs from April to September and we will publish more information in March.

Lancaster Photographic Society Lancaster Photographic Society Lancaster Photographic Society is for anyone with an interest in photography. Everyone is welcome! We are people who make pictures purely for the joy of making pictures. Our members use all kinds of photographic equipment, from film cameras to the latest DSLRs to mobile phones. The photographic equipment that you have isn’t important, so come along and learn how to develop your photography skills. We meet on Monday evenings, 7.30 til about 10 (and then on to the pub next door), with formal meetings from September to April, and workshops and trips over the summer months. Please note that the Society has moved to a new venue. Green Door Artists @GreenDoorArt Green Door Art Cumbria and North Lancashire We are a self-managed, not-for-profit artists’ co-operative originally based in Kendal but now with around 100 members from around Cumbria and North Lancashire.
